FAQs

  • You can pay through Venmo, by credit card, or with a bank transfer.

  • I use feedback informed care- that means you will be asked to regularly rate your symptoms and experience in therapy - data that shows your improvement or lack thereof, and give feedback on your experience in therapy so that we can make adjustments and pivot to suit your needs.

  • I generally see clients during the day, so that I can spend time with my family at other times, because I value work life balance, too. I do offer evening appointments one day per week.

  • Following our initial call we will set up your first appointment. then we will schedule a regular time for us to meet - probably weekly at first then less often as we go on - please be aware that after you complete therapy, I can be available for tune-ups as needed.

  • Yup - unless you report child/dependent adults or elder abuse or that your are a danger to yourself, others, or the property of others.

  • If I feel that you are avoiding a topic that may move you closer to achieving what you want out of life, I will point that out to you. Ultimately you are in charge of what you talk about in therapy and you can fire me anytime you want. But I do find that for some people, emotional avoidance is a habit- they want to feel better, so they avoid uncomfortable topics. But feeling better in the moment isn't usually going to lead to growth as a human. Getting better at experiencing feelings is the key to getting to where you want to go. There's a cool George Adair quote- Everything you ever wanted is on the other side of fear" - I think this goes for most emotions we perceive as negative- If we get good at feeling and experiencing emotions without them overtaking us or us avoiding them we can pretty much handle all roadblocks that get in the way of our goals. I've got lots of skills for getting better at feeling rather than always trying to feel better.

  • I do take clinical notes. This is a requirement that therapists are ethically required to uphold. These notes are held in a secure electronic health record.
